Right, so, vikings! I've been rereading my old norse mythology and sagas, for plenty of reasons but mainly because they're brilliant, and it's been so fun! Did you know Freya drove a chariot pulled by cats? And that giantesses were pretty fine, to the point where gods fell for them? I didn't! I've just read AS Byatt's Ragnarok, and if you want a telling of the mythology, creation myth and end of the world, it's a stunningly beautiful place to start
