Ok, so you know how much I love a good apocalypse (or maybe you didn't, but now you do) and this was just everything that I love about them all wrapped up in stunning beatiful horrifying words. Just how it pushes all of them to these extreme yet perfectly in character places. Especially Joe continuously making plans. Amazing. And this,

and then there was light, so much light my fucking eyes hurt and howls that tore open the sky and sent fire down. The wolves came, and they laughed, and it was winter three times over. Birds dropped from the sky, two ravens perished and he was sightless-

this is so beautiful i...i...i can't even say anything about it. i was pulling quotes of places where i just had to sit and LIVE with the words for a second, they were so good, but AT THIS POINT I'D BE QUOTING THE WHOLE STORY IN COMMENTS.
