I don't recall ever watching more than one episode as it didn't strike me as particularly funny.
I suspect it's appeal to the larger public lay in it's relentless poking fun at the bro's in the same way as Billy T used to poke the borax at many of the Maori attitudes (and got away with it because he was, you know, one of them hisself)...
Oh, and remember that over here there aren't any censors, except the righteous sitting at home who are free to complain to the broadcaster, and then, when no satisfactory response is received, to the Broadcasting Standards Authority who may or may not slap the offending broadcaster over the wrist with a wet bus ticket.
