And I thought Gnome 3 was a bit of a disaster on our home clunker when aptitude auto installed it a couple of months back, missing modern drivers &/or hardware I suspect. the lack of a simple method of seeing what is running is the major bugbear I have with it - the taskbar only shows the current screen (which suits $WIFE) which I find to be a pita, given I usually have 6 or 7 screens and like to move among them freely via the taskbar.
It looks to me as if Gnome GUI has been hijacked by some forceful type who has a very limited way of using a computer.
Maybe I should go back to XFCE again and see if that works better than it used to a long time ago...
Retraining $WIFE yet again is the major pita, however...
I have 7 monitors on my desk at work, and use them
And here was me thinking I was looking geeky with 3 monitors & a laptop...
