Ask the Maker thread.
As I said in the introductory Ask the Maker post, the tutorials I'll be making will be quite simple. Getting into details would lead me to drop the activity at some point and I refuse to let the ones requesting down once again. That being said, these are going to be VERY straightforward but there are going to be a lot of images to illustrate what happens in each step. I hope you find them useful!

STEP 10: Texture time! Take
this texture and drag it to the icon. Set it to screen, 100% opacity. Then, duplicate the texture and set it to 50% opacity, still in screen mode. If you know the maker, please tell me so I can credit them properly.

STEP 16: Sharpen! Depending on the icon, I used different techniques. Here I went for a gaussian blur layer set to normal, 20% opacity and then for a sharpen layer set to norma, 8% opacity.

And that's it! Please, don't replicate this icon exactly and let me know if you have any questions!
