Gosh, sometimes I wonder whether I should get into Supernatural because half of my friends watch it but I heard so many bad things about it and it just looks like an endless stream of fanservice O.o
Oh my god Supernatural ruined my life, but I keep watching it no matter how many times it rips my heart out and stomps on it. Sort of how Merlin does, but SPN goes darker and has more characterization than Merlin. I think you'd like it considering how much you like Merlin and Arthur, because that's so Sam and Dean. Like Merlin, when SPN is good, it is damn fine, world-building interesting, plot anguishing, and ache'y. I don't think the fanservice got bad until the back half of s4, and since then it's gotten very tired. But before that it was no more fanservice'y than the usual arm porn, gun porn, scenery porn type of stuff

That all sounds like a great guilty pleasure/easy entertainment, but the fandom with all the incest still squicks me the wrong way. Well, who knows, maybe one day.
AHHHHH this all sounds utterly marvelous. I really do miss that show sometimes.
