Even though I have enough on my plate, I finally broke down and signed up for Rarewomen. Mainly because I am hoping to get Dee fic :) I'll be happy with anything else, of course, but I'm crossing my fingers for Dee. I'm kind of resenting the letters for every challenge thing though. I get it for Yuletide because those are small fandoms, but I ( Read more... )

She was really good in "American Hustle." But the Academy is definitely prejudiced against most genre films.

I may have to rent it one of these days- getting to the movies just doesn't happen much anymore. But yeah, even a guy is going to have a hard time winning for a genre film, but I have really enjoyed her as Katniss.

I really hate when I go to the trouble of making something and it doesn't taste good. I don't like to cook anyway, so that just makes it so much worse.

Good luck figuring out which, if any, marathons you want to do.

{hugs}

I know. It sucks when you do like to cook, so I can imagine how annoying it is if you don't. :P

And thanks!

I think you should go ahead and register for the lottery! Start banking applications for the "fourth time guaranteed" entry process if necessary. If you get in, you'll find a way to make it work financially (and your card gets debited months before the race itself, if you do). I forget, have you done NYC before? I say go for it! It would be a cool experience for your kids to see, too. Even if you don't have a PR race there, the experience is so magical that the time is almost incidental.

I too am planning my fall; however, I don't think it will involve a marathon, if everything goes as I hope it will. :)

Edited because I got so wrapped up in NYC talk that I forgot to ask: want to meet up for a long run this weekend? We could do Forbidden Drive in the Wissahickon, perhaps?

Hmmm. Icon is relevant? :) Good luck with fall plans!

I decided to shut my NYC cravings up by putting my name in for the Marine Corps Marathon instead. The fee is less than half of NY, it's incredibly iconic, and while I have Virgina, I don't really have DC, and they're different :) I could do the Perk Up half, the Hershey Half, and the MCM for the same price as NYC, so I think I'll wait a year on NYC anyway.

I would love to get together this weekend, but it's kind of a busy one! I can't run Saturday, and I'm not sure what the weather is holding Sunday- driving to Philly might not be on. Maybe another weekend soon where snow isn't predicted? Because I would love to, but I have to deal with a birthday party :P
