OMG- CUTE!!!!!! (It's JK Rowling's Rita Skeeter story about the current whereabouts of the Potter kids.) ADORABLE. You can tell Rowling LOVES writing Rita Skeeter, and I love that she lives up to the "enchantingly nasty" description she had Dumbledore give. "Enchantingly nasty" is a perfect description. :)

Cut for a little more squeeing. )

The dig at Hermione's hair was such fun, as was the ear-breathing comment. Hee!

Agreed that Ron's choice to help with George's enterprise sounds like a good match for him, and one that would certainly be less stressful than continuing as an Auror. Kudos to anyone who can do that kind of work for a long time (Harry, apparently), but I like Ron, and I think he'd be at a lot of risk for burnout.

Hermione's continued rise through the Ministry pleases me.

I know! The whole thing was just fun :) And that's exactly what I was trying to get at with Ron- I like him and want him to be happy, and not burnt out and depressed. I could see him staying with the Aurors until the worst of the Death Eaters are rounded up and then going to work with George and doing a lot of the grunt work of raising the kids. (Also, the idea of Ron teaching his kids to read just fills me with glee, and would probably make Hermione melt as she peeked in on them, especially since Hermione would probably try to start with Hogwarts: a History, and Ron would start with If You Give A Manticore a Muffin or something like that. :)

Finally got to read the little story. Very cute! Thanks for linking - I wouldn't have known about it otherwise; am surprised no one else on my flist has mentioned it. I actually was a little bothered by the comment about Neville and Hannah's drinking, but the rest was definitely cute. Like you, I liked the idea of Ron going to work with George; I, too, think Ron would have chosen family over ambition, and think the joke shop would have been a much better fit for him than life in the Ministry.

I'm glad you saw it! It was definitely cute :) If the article had been written by anyone but Rita Skeeter I'd be more bothered by the drinking comment, but she probably caught one of them buying cooking sherry and that was the basis, so I just laughed that one off :)
