Normally, I do not like pictures of myself running. I'm not thrilled with how I look right now, but even under the best of circumstances, I never look like I feel running, and I don't take flattering pictures. Somehow, my husband managed to get a decent picture of me, but that's not why I'm sharing it. The reason it's my new favorite picture is ( Read more... )

Thanks! We had a great time. Even Trevor did before he ran and after he was cleaned up. Poor kid :)

So, I'm assuming people with ataxia are amongst the bike riders? I suppose they could also have watched the beginning of a Philly half, with the wheelchair racers.

That mud run sounds like a great success for you and your kids! Congrats to Toby - that's just so awesome!! And congrats to Trevor, too - he finished, even though it was hard.

And given how cold and ucky it was on Saturday, I really commend you guys for voluntarily getting sodden. Brrr!

Yeah, there were a lot of people with ataxia among the bikers, especially since we were helping with the 5 and 10 mile race. Some of them were really young, too. And it's nice to have people cheering you on, no matter what!

We did think about the wheelchair racers, but that's really early and we don't usually take the kids to my races (which I kind of enjoy- I'm already planning about getting to Reading Terminal Market for lunch or something after the Philly full :) ) Plus, volunteering is a good thing.

Thanks! :)

I'm so happy about Toby and the race! What a tough guy! And you were worried about him and sports. I think the secret of this all is that he had really been wanting to do this. In 50F weather, you have to really want it. And what great pictures. :-)

Poor Trevor. He'll find something too. It was just so cold today.

Harry Potter and a knight! I hope some realm needs saving!

Kids always surprise you :) He definitely had a fun time. And I do wish Trevor's first experience hadn't been on such a cold day! I really couldn't blame him.

It looks like you and Toby had a huge fun time. Trevor will have better runs or find some other activity he really enjoys. Glad you had a good family weekend.
