My mom and I went to see Mockingjay over Thanksgiving weekend and both really enjoyed it. I had the Hanging Tree song stuck in my head for a couple days afterwards.
I haven't read the books, but I have a hard time imagining how that story could work as a Katniss 1st person POV--it just seems way too limiting.
Happy holidays, and happy belated birthdays to Toby & Trevor!
Thanks! Hope you had a decent holiday (and are recovered from the flu!) as well, and glad to see you around! :)
I do think the Katniss POV limits it too much in the third book especially, although I can't imagine the first book being anything but a Katniss 1st person POV. But with the point Collins wants to make about war and PSTD and the effect it has on people, the POV definitely gets too limited. I wish she'd done something like Patrick Ness did in Chaos Walking and introduced a new POV each book, and it's been the best thing about the movies, the way they're able to expand out.
