Sorry the eyedrops and other discomforts were so traumatic! MiniPlu is terrified of needles, so she sits on my lap and I hold her while she whimpers - and this was when she was turning 11 (the last shots she needed). She gets the flu mist spray so she can avoid the shots, and shudders at the thought she might need an IV someday.
Two can get twitchy about needles, and other times he can be ok. He sits on my lap, too, but that's because, if he's twitchy, I can help hold his arm still.
But, yeah, MiniPlu in particular is very sensitive about discomforts, and will have a conniption over bruising her knee or something, rather than just going, "Ouch" and moving on. Drives me bananas.
Sounds like Christmas was great, though. And, yeah, that photo of Trevor and his girl-cousin was so cute! Toby looks awesome with his new glasses - yeah, retro seems to be in now.
You and I have known each other in person for about 10 years now - Toby was a newborn the first time we met up. Freaky!
Wow, Toby is TEN?! Gosh, when did that happen? And I still think of Trevor as the little toddler who didn't want to be put down. Aww.
I freaked out during my last booster shot when I was six. I do not like pain. Now I get acupuncture, go figure. The thing with me and discomfort is I'm okay with it if I have some semblance of control during the experienc.
Poor Trevor. Maybe the visit with the psychologist will shed some light. I think you are a great mom so I know they'll be all right.
I wish you and your family the best in 2016!
(The one thing about your kids being older is that I've known you here on LJ for like nine years! I don't mind that part. :-))
Freaking out over invasive body things can definitely have a completely irrational element to it. I never threw tantrums over them, but I have stories of the places I've passed out due to medical things. Including a fingerprick blood test, an eyedrop put in my eye, and the mention of getting a shot. (The really sad thing? Two of those three mentions were when I was already an adult.)
Glad everything else seems well; your kids are getting so big! Also, wow, a slumber party. Eep!

It sounds like you are busy, and happy, for the most part. Yay!
