Hello, Yuletide writer!

Nov 11, 2008 22:43

My first Yuletide ever! I've wanted to join for years, but never quite got up the courage before now. I am honestly so excited to be a part of this, I will just adore whatever you give me, so thank you!

I have some very different fandoms I've chosen; I'm a total fannish butterfly, I know. So, here's a bit about what I love about them, and just in general:

I'm a huge fan of angst eventually overcome. I love hurt/comfort and emotional pain, but I prefer a happy ending, or at least one with some positives - it doesn't have to be Disney, just not depressing. (That said, I believe that even a death story can on occasion be uplifting, and I'm good with that.)

I prefer slash, but I love good emotionally intense gen, too. I'd rather no het, please. Sex is good, if it fits into the story - best if it advances the story! I love a good story with no sex, I love a good story with sex. And I'm very open to all varieties of explicitness. A hint of BDSM wouldn't go amiss, but it's by no means required! Wordplay and different takes on things are highly cool. I enjoy "what might have happened if this one thing went differently" AUs, and I'm a sucker for a good crossover, too!

I don't like partners betraying each other (I know - given my chosen pairings, go figure!), at least not voluntarily. I really don't like MPreg. I severely hate humiliation or any kind of embarrassment; it's a severe squick of mine. (That kind of thing where the one "in the know" kid tries to convince the cops that no, really, his neighbour is a vampire? Will have me screaming and running from the room.)

1. Gabriel Knight - Gabriel Knight/Friedrich Von Glower
Oh, man; I would be so ecstatic to get something with these two. I mean, the slash is palpable on the screen, and the fandom's so tiny! These two are gorgeous, strong men with obvious attraction and equally obvious tension. Yum! I'd love to see something that plays on that. I'm not a huge fan of Grace, fwiw.

2. Kung Fu the Legend Continues
Peter's adorable, and more spiritual than he's comfortable with; Kermit's adorable, and an enigma. Together they fight crime! are a fun pair. I'd enjoy seeing something post-series, but a missing scene or between-eps scene would also be fun. I'd be interested to see what someone else's take on Kermit's background is, and I'd love to see what it takes to get these two to actually *talk*! *g* Caine is fun, too (the elder, that is); I wouldn't mind him making a guest appearance.

3. J R R Tolkien - The Silmarillion
I'm a ginormous Tolkien fan; I've got a Tengwar tattoo, even. And some of these characters have always really grabbed me - Maedhros and Maglor, Beren and Finrod, Beleg and Turin, Tuor and Voronwë. There are so many possibilities! I think Tuor's story allows for the happiest ending, and I'd especially love to see that. Slash would be welcome, but good, emotionally intense gen is practically the stock-in-trade for Tolkien, so that would be excellent, too.

4. Wiseguy - Sonny/Vinnie
I adore this pairing. They're sexy, and intense, and there's just not enough love for the insanely loyal and loving psychopath that is Sonny. Neither of these guys is "the good guy"; they're both pretty grey, and I love that. Love the moral ambiguity and conflicts. Nifty stuff!

You should have my Web URL; hasn't been updated in a while, but it'll give you an idea what I like. Feel free to ask any other questions via the mods. And again, thank you very much! :)
