Easter and Homework and Fics, Oh my!

Apr 24, 2011 15:58

Here's hoping everyone had a Happy Easter! I know I ate too much and am currently suffering for it. Shut up. Mom made Key Lime Pie. I can't resist Key Lime Pie!

It's been a busy week and I'm not all done with my homework yet, which is a shame because I kinda wanted to watch the Blackhawks game with Mom tonight. I've got the whole rest of Pudd'nhead ( Read more... )

homework, fanfiction, easter

Yes, I do know that moment about spelling. Happily, the ego downer is compensated from time to time by my using words so esoteric that the auto-spell-check on my PC is stumped. It's nice we can still correct our machines occasionally!

True! Or when it's 100% off on grammar.

Let's see, have an agonizin' stomachache, or risk refusin' to eat your mother's cooking.
I think ye made the right(and safer) decision.

Ah, things will work out. They usually do, especially when ye DON'T think about them too much.
Then again, I have gotten into trouble meself for neglecting important stuff...

I still can't decide between 'colour' or 'color'. Meh. As long as the reader understands what you wrote. Besides, pointing out spelling errors seems a little low to me.

Just got Good Omens, and will start reading it as soon as I can. I heard that Death made an appearance in it, so I'll be hoping to see the guy.
God, please cure Pratchett.

She wouldn't be mad... but I would've missed out on Key Lime Pie!

Well, I ended up juggling everything... sort of. So I guess it all does work out!

To me, whenever I see the 'colour' spelling I always want to pronounce it weird. Like draw out the last syllable or something :P. I agree about pointing out spelling errors... I mean, in a sense I don't really *mind* when people do it because it's good to fix these things but... sometimes I'm like "is the only thing you came away from my fic with that I used the wrong 'there'?" when people only do that.

Oooh~ Good Omens is a-may-zing. I think you'll like the bits with Death. I've also heard a television series adaption is in the works for it.

My journalism teacher made us get a Twitter account...I personally think it's thoroughly useless. You only get a limited number of character. Even Google Buzz is better.

But it IS a good way to share what you're reading. And it's good practice, I guess, for concise writing (or textspeak)...But that's basically it.

Yeah... I'm still thinking about it. I know it's really only good for short blurbs, but... well, sometimes I have only short things to say.
