So, today was a particularly terrible day to have a yard sale. It's ridiculously cold for May and looked like it was gonna rain the whole time. I didn't even make that much... most of the stuff sold was my Mom's so my take was only 25$ which... wasn't really worth being out in that weather all that time. Thoughts like this one usually occur around Two Am: I'm thinking of comparing the Pirates of the Caribbean films to Discworld.
...I'm starting to think that Sparrow an' Rincewind are rather similar in their philosophies and beliefs(Sparrow's actions an' dialogue during the Brethen Court meeting in the third film really illustrated this).
I wonder which one of POTC's characters you, llybian, would associate/compare to Granny Weatherwax...

Y'know, I haven't watched those movies in ages. I probably haven't seen At World's End since it came out in theatres. I don't know that there's a real Granny Weatherwax match-up, but Tia Dalma/Calypso might have something to talk about with the witches...

Lives in a small hut filled with odd trinkets(including some eyeballs that would really interest Quoth, the Death of Rat's translator/sidekick) that may or may not be Boffo-minded, uses what Weatherwax defines as headology(seriously, a jar of dirt?) and would help anyone who comes seeking it from her, though of course they must have something of value in return(whatever Weatherwax would say, we both know she expects SOME sort of repayment from the people she helps, respect being mandatory).
It's all too easy to see Esme Weatherwax in her pointy hat(with many pins), statin' that she can't be having with goddesses who go around pretending to be witches.
