Princesses & Tea

I had a really nice time out today. I went over to the Disney store in the mall and there were so many cute things there! ...Of course, the mild deterent to me spending copious amounts of money there is that there are so many cute things FOR SEVEN YEAR OLDs. They have some adult T's in the back, but they're just not as cute. WHY NO ELABORATE DISNEY ( Read more... )

Feels weird to have an Avengers wall in the Disney store... I know that kids like superheroes and stuff, but kids (of the age that usually get stuff from the Disney store) shouldn't be watching PG-13 movies! I guess in retrospect the Avengers isn't as "bad" as some other recent superhero movies, but still. Feels weird. I wish I could remember when we started seeing PG-13 movies but I just do not recall. Let alone my first R-rated movie, which is apparently something EVERYONE ELSE remembers.

It is a bit weird, but at least it makes the store a little more balanced gender-wise. There's actually a whole bunch of Avengers stuff aimed soley at kids. I was in the grocery store yesterday and they had a bunch of children's picture books in the impulse shopping area right by check-out and there was a line of Avengers stuff right beneath the line of Brave stuff. For better or for worse, it seems like more and more movie franchises in the PG-13 to R rating have kid stuff as tie-ins.

I totally wanted to buy the giant toy version of Thor's hammer though.

Well sure, I think anyone would be tempted by that.

I know~<3 They had a Flynn doll and a Mother Gothel doll there too, as well as wedding-like versions of Rapunzel and Flynn, but I ended up going with classic Punzie :)

Yeah, I really wish they had more stuff for adults. There's some stuff in the back but it's never the stuff that I want (except for my awesome Mickey bathrobe which is awesome). Boo-hoo! Maybe if I went on a crash diet and chopped my legs off I could fit into these adorable children's clothes!

TEA IS GOOD.

EEE! Sounds like a fun day! Tangled swag is always nice, and the tea shop just sounds like the Icing on the cake. The nearest Disney store close to me is almost 70 miles away. An people think Tim Hortons is a tea shop. I mean they serve tea right? (NOOOO!) Sounds like it was a fun day!

Yep! It was a lot of fun! It's a shame there aren't any close by to you, because I really enjoy mine (when it's not swamped with kids). Tim Hortons... we don't have any of those in this area. Aren't they a doughnut shop?

Yes! Its a donut shop/coffee shop. They serve teabag tea, and they only have three flavors. The closest thing I've ever been to like a tea shop is Teavana, which was at the mall downtown Chicago. It was the amazing! We went on a tea tour and learned about all the different types of tea. That is something I wish to invest in some day :-)

We probably don't have 'em because this is Dunkin Donuts territory.

I think Teavana is the shop that's going to be opening up at my mall! I'm definitely looking forward to that. I wish there was some sort of tea of the month club to join :P
