I promised many to take and share the "after" photos of all the work I put into my new home, but I procrastinate like a mofo if I have no deadline to meet. With the parents arriving tonight, I did a thorough cleaning and straightening of the new digs...and figured I should take those "after" pictures while everything looks so pretty and clean. :D

( Forgive the crappy stitching on the 'after' photos--I wasn't going for perfect pictures here, just display quality. :) )

Put up my tree for the first time in four years since my parents will be coming here this year instead of me heading back to Texas. This means I have to get the house in to shape--and cook my first Christmas dinner!

The kitties are thrilled... :D

...making a camera obscura is a bit harder than I'd thought it'd be. But it works! Unfortunately, I lost the good light by the time it was done.

"Dreamscape" will end up being a three-image composite instead of a two-image one, like I'd hoped. Argh.

I had waaaay too much fun at my night photography class last week. Thankfully, it was easy to get a couple others involved in my craziness.

( What do you do in a big, empty field with a flashlight at 10pm? Lots of running around like an idiot, if you're me! )

I just had a telemarketer call and after the usual fake pleasantries, he launched into his spiel with this: "This is just a brief, recorded call..."

At the end of his speech, I told him he should look into revising the script so it didn't say "recorded call."

Most amuisng call I've had in a while.

I was out at the zoo for three hours yesterday. Then I went hiking in a nature preserve for another couple hours. I took more than 500 pictures, and my knees are killing me today ( Read more... )
