Damn buzzards. Mr. Crabtree (the owner of the Model A i took across the country) hit a buzzard in the model A while driving on the interstate. It made a dent on the pebble gaurd on the front :\
He thinks the bird died because not only did he hit it at ~65mph with a flat, hot, surface, it also went under the car and came out the back end. Supposedly the bird sort of wabbled over to the median and after a while he couldn't see what happened to the bird.
Your car seems to be okee. which is ver' good. it also seems like it should only be a few pieces of plastic to get it looking like new again.
Jeez -- looks okay for the most part but how does a bird manage that? That's riciulous!
Might wanna make fixing the latch on the hood the first priority. No fun to have the hood fly up when driving. Happened to me once and thankfully there was no one else nearby on the road so I could just stop and close it, but I know that's not supposed to be good.... :(
yeah - my brother is coming up here next weekend to work on my car, replace the bug guard and grill and everything. I mean I really don't even need my car until i come home for spring break. My hood was okay for the drive up (this happened 45 minutes into my drive... it's a little over 5 hour drive) but oh yeah. it's definitely getting fixed.
I still feel bad! Poor bird. I mean it had no idea that I was going so fast and that it couldn't avoid my car! I think it was just bernoulli's principle that sucked the poor bird into flying head on into my car, or else the bird just decided to turn - but nevertheless, i still feel terrible.

At least it was a turkey buzzard and not a bald eagle, so all you have to feel bad about is your car..

It might have been appropriate if that picture you posted had the bird with all of its limbs detached, decapitated and a mangled, bloody mess.
