Act 16. Scout

Jul 15, 2009 23:19

Ahh... When I was told that I would receive an "item from home" for attending the Tanabata ball, I was expecting something along the lines of a hand towel or a gift basket. Instead, I find a car parked outside. I suppose it must have been mine to begin with, seeing as how one of the keys I had with me upon my arrival fits into the ignition. However ( Read more... )

Oh wow, you got a car, Mr. Ren?

I hope you have good luck with finding help for your endevour!

Ah, yes. It certainly seems that way.

Thank you very much, Ms. Yomiko. I've already stumbled across several individuals with potential. Unfortunately I don't know if I'll be able to persuade one of them, a Ms. Grants, to consider taking up the performing arts as a hobby. The others seemed much more interested.

((OOC: Say no to playercest, folks. *bricked*))

Yes, that's right.
Is there something wrong with that, Ms. Mogami?
Judging from that reaction, I'm assuming most people didn't.

It's just a bit... more than I thought people would get. That's pretty cool, though. Now you don't have to take the bus to the onsen.

[Imagine a sigh.] You speak as if I visit the onsen frequently when in fact I had never even been inside the facility before Tanabata.

By the way, Ms. Mogami, how serious are you about becoming an actress these days?

[Run, Kyoko, run. Or else Mr. Tsuruga will grab you by the back of the collar and put your acting skillz to the ultimate test.]

You... YOU GOT A CAR?! An automobile? Oh, I've seen those in books!!! What era? They're all so different! OH, do you think I could take a peek under the hood? Pretty pretty please! I know what I'm doing! Ask Ed, he'll back me up!!!

Oh, and I could probably help with curtains and lights for the play, too, if you still need it. I agree-- we need more entertainment here. People just get too sad sometimes.

I assume you're a mechanic of some kind? Well, feel free to take a look at it. Just, please don't go about taking it apart.

You would? It would be greatly appreciated, and I'm quite pleased to hear that someone feels the same way.

I think people may need a show that will help them take their minds off those sad things. That's part of an actor's job, too, I think - to divert the audience from their own lives and try to convince them that the performance is its own reality.

Yes, I am! Thanks! Eee! I can't wait to look~!!

And I think so too. I can help build a stage and set, so it'll be my job to help the actors take the audience to a new worry-free world, right?
Have you picked a play yet?

[Can't help but be a little worried for his car.]

Yes. I think it's important to create an atmosphere that will captivate the audience. To do that, the set would need to be interesting. As for lighting, it needs to emphasize what's going on, but not be too distracting.

Not yet, no. I was thinking about using something simple, such as a folktale or a fairytale that everyone might be familiar with... and then give it some new life.

Well, what do you think you'd be good at? Do you have an interest in acting or music, or would you rather help with something else? There are other things such as costumes and backgrounds to think about, so we should be able to find you a job that suits your talents.

Is there anything in particular that you have an interest in, Miss Sakura? I'm sure I can figure something out if you're so eager to help.
