Thank you very much, Ms. Yomiko. I've already stumbled across several individuals with potential. Unfortunately I don't know if I'll be able to persuade one of them, a Ms. Grants, to consider taking up the performing arts as a hobby. The others seemed much more interested.

Oh, and I could probably help with curtains and lights for the play, too, if you still need it. I agree-- we need more entertainment here. People just get too sad sometimes.

You would? It would be greatly appreciated, and I'm quite pleased to hear that someone feels the same way.
I think people may need a show that will help them take their minds off those sad things. That's part of an actor's job, too, I think - to divert the audience from their own lives and try to convince them that the performance is its own reality.

Yes. I think it's important to create an atmosphere that will captivate the audience. To do that, the set would need to be interesting. As for lighting, it needs to emphasize what's going on, but not be too distracting.
Not yet, no. I was thinking about using something simple, such as a folktale or a fairytale that everyone might be familiar with... and then give it some new life.
