It was definitely not the nicest thing for someone who has a horrible anxiety about flying to hear.

As they have been saying, there were 149 people on board plus the flight crew. The people were very calm and all exited the plane and stood on the wing and waited to be picked up by one of the ferries in the area. The main issue is the hypothermia and the wind chill.

Leighanne, you will be fine! The runways at JFK are much longer than LGA.

I flew shortly after 9/11 and it was nerve-wracking as hell, but no huge deal.

When I learned of this, I realized I had to stop making fun of the line, "In case of a water landing" when we fly across the country! At least there is something to be said for all the safety hoo-ha they throw at you. Everyone got out alive. I hope that means you are in good hands!
