as a winter storm swirls around me, i've got a brainstorm swirling deep inside. my resolutions for this year don't have much to do with losing 10 pounds or quitting a bad habit (when have they ever, really?) but they do have a lot to do with making plans and sticking to them. i've been in rochester long enough to have settled and have wound down

I can't remember if I gave you my rudder speech or not. Basically it's the one where I realized that only I can point my life in any one direction. Floating down the river of life is just fine for a while, but eventually you have to take a hold of the rudder and go. You are obviously realizing this so much sooner than I did. :)
