60s Pop Metal

Sep 12, 2007 00:54

I just realized that I'd love to be in a band that redoes 60s pop songs into death metal.

Repertoire:
  • Jay and the Americans, "Come a Little Bit Closer"
  • The Dave Clark Five, "Glad All Over"
  • Manfred Mann, "Do Wah Diddy Diddy"
  • Herman's Hermits, "Can't You Hear My Heart Beat"
  • Herman's Hermits, "I'm Henry the VIII, I Am"

I think The Turtles - Happy Together would be really creepy to re-do in that fashion. Or in any fashion. Something about that song is just ominous...you expect it to be playing over some horribly drawn out torture scene in a movie. Probably someone has actually done that. If they haven't, they should.

(whee, I'm in LJ after a break of about two years. remember me?)

True... now I'm picturing it in Reservoir Dogs instead of "Stuck in the Middle with You" and am extremely amused.

Yes I do remember you, what have you been up to? Welcome back to LJ.

I've been taking a break from the internet and tv so I could accomplish some other things in my life. Now I'm tired of being productive. Internet and cheetos ahoy!
