I might lose the temple in the middle of the maze, I think it's a little distracting.

Definitely lose the temple in the maze. It makes the maze feel smaller because it forces the eye to stop. You want that thing to look like it goes past the border into infinity like the ocean on the left does.

yeah, it doesn't set up the next image as much... but it's also a total mood killer for this one.
