After reading your journal entry I visited www.tree.org -Its so cool!
Are you gonna go work for them?
I loved the words on how trees' are a holy manifestation,I couldnt agree more....
It reminded me of this lovely tree we have here called Tane Mahuta after the Maori God of the forest.
Its a couple of hours North from where I live.Heaps of tourists always visit it,and yet instead of being chaotic, when people see it,they often become silent in awe.....Its SO huge! and so beautiful...Like looking at a sky scraper for fairies (:

oh that is wonderful...usually they just cut the tree down because they want to build a parking a lot. you know. there was this tree once thought to be incredibly old, and it was, and in order to find this out humans thought they should cut it down, and it turned out to be even older than methusalah, this reallllly old tree.
i saw a banyan tree in hawaii that was probably about thirty feet around. they are one of my favorite trees, how they drop their vines that eventually become roots. fucking amazing.

and yes i do hope to go work for that guy. 65 acres of south facing slope in way northern california on a four wheel drive road. he said we are more than welcome there, but now we just have to figure out when/how. a bunch of my friends live there and a few are thinking of moving out there so we have time to think about it. and there's always airplanes, but i'd rather do a crosscountry carride to see all the sights of this crumbling country of ours before every landscape is just cookie cutter houses and grossness like that. that guy does sound great though. and you only have to work 20 hours a week for room and board. but yesterday my friend called me and told me a lady at his work has three boxer puppies (two boys and a little GIRL)_and she's going to give them to the pound if she doesn't find a home for them, so this might add a new variable to the equation because i've always wanted a puppy but my siblings were allergic. so if i go see her, which i am, and love her, which i will,, i'm going to have to take her home... hehe
