OOC: In case anyone had missed it, after Laurian will be rescued (we aren't there yet... XD), and brought back to St. Cat's, she's put in a magical coma to sleep through most of the healing process. This because it'll be too painful otherwise. Today is the first day she'll (officially) wake up from that. So open to anyone who wants to witness that ( Read more... )

Kate was at Laurian's bedside, on her knees but curiously peering over the edge at the sleeping girl. She almost looked peaceful, resting as she was. It made her think of a bear that was hibernating to conserve it's energy when times were tough during a brutal winter. Maybe that's what Laurian was doing...she was hibernating to heal up from how bad everything had been for her. But today was the day she was supposed to wake up, and Kate wanted to be by her side. After all the things she had taught her in her short time there, and with how much the younger Slayer looked up to and admired the girl with the Fey-blood of the elves, Katelyn felt that it wouldn't be right if she wasn't there to lend her support.

Hino Rei was there as well; unlike some of the other visitors that only arrived for this one day, the day where Christel reversed the magical slumber that had kept Laurian inactive for all this time, Rei had never left her side. Never did she stray much further than the waiting room out front, and woe be unto the well-meaning professors who thought they could force her back into class while Laurian was in so much pain. Her fiery temper was a force to be reckoned with.

"I only wish you would have told me sooner," she half-muttered to Christel as she prepared to reverse her own magic. "I would have worried far less, had I known that this was your way of protecting her and not a sign that her condition was worsening..."

Liz, of course, sat right next to Katelyn. She had visited on occasion, though more often to bring something to Rei than for the comatose girl. Even today, she had to admit she was here more for Rei than for Laurian, even though she was concerned about Laurian with all her injuries and wished there was something she could do to help her. But the woman called Christel hadn't allowed anyone to help and told them it was best if she healed on her own.

The Seer gazed up at her classmate. Rei had worried so much over the past few weeks... She reached out to place a hand for a moment on the girl's arm. "I'm sure everything will be alright now, though," she said with her forever optimism.

Christel didn't even glance aside at the muttered words of Rei. "There was no time, sorry," was all she said. Her attention was needed on the reversal of her spell and she had preferred to do it alone. That, of course, was almost impossible, and so she tried to ignore the things said around her.

But she couldn't ignore Liz' optimism. As soon as she released to spell that would pull Laurian out of her coma and into a deep sleep from which she'd soon wake up, Christel turned to Rei.

"Rei?" she said in a voice that only the girl could. "I have to warn you. Laurian is still in a lot of pain, but I can't keep her in a coma any longer without causing any damage to her mind. Not only that... she will feel she failed. Don't be surprised when she'll try to push you away the next few days. It's just how she is. She'll get over it, but give her time."
