Christel bustled around the infirmary, searching for someone who could help her. It was time to change Laurian's bandages again, and she needed help with that. But of course, there was no doctor, no nurse, no one available

Rei had been waiting, wanting to offer Laurian her support in whatever way she was able. The wounded girl had pushed her away, not even wanting her to be in the same room as her. But never one to easily give up, the discouraged and downhearted priestess continued to come to the infirmary's waiting room to simply wait. For what, she did not know.
In time, Christel emerged from Laurian's room with a simple request. The raven-hair girl rose, only too eager to help...even if it would only hurt Laurian to have the one guest she wanted to see the least right now. It could not be helped - someone had to help Christel, and Rei welcomed any excuse to see Laurian again no matter how brief.
"The bandages have to be changed," Christel explained as she walked back into the room. "I can't do that on my own, I need some help there." An idea suddenly hit her; surely Rei would want to be with Laurian as long as possible. "It's also time for her to eat and drink," the witch continued calmly. "Her fingers have healed nicely, but her muscles have weakened. Laurian will need some therapy before she can use her hands again. And then of course there is that arm of hers..."
Christel shook her head. "I do my best, but it's like her arm is rejecting the repaired muscle. I hope I'll find a way to fix that." Problems for later; first things first. She handed Rei some fresh, clean bandages. "Why don't you do her right side, I do her left side and we'll do the upper torso together after that."
OOC: That's arm and leg. ^^ And Laurian did not give any indication that she knows Rei is there. Just staring down at the blanket.
Rei knew there would be no way that Laurian would agree to this. And while the psychic girl could not truly read minds, she knew that Laurian had not yet noticed her presence. If she had, her spiritual sense would surely have picked up on such strong feelings of guilt and of shame. So the priestess said nothing, but merely nodded a silent acknowledgment to Christel. The deception would not last for long, but hopefully long enough to become busy with changing the bandages such that she could not easily stop with everything being only half-done.
Knowing that Laurian would become upset with her as soon as she looked up, Rei decided to delay the inevitable. She silently went to work dressing the Slayer's many wounds with all the love and care she could, hoping to help her out if only in this one small way.
Perhaps it was for the best - words would only lead to arguments, hurt feelings, and demands to leave her alone. Words would only lead to her being thrown out of Laurian's life completely, for however long it took for her to fully
Christel was not as careful and sensitive as Rei was. She knew Laurian and she knew Laurian wanted to be alone; she also knew isolation wasn't good for the girl. And so as she began to remove the old bandages and apply fresh ones, she chatted on continuously
