I'm bummed by the lack of money this year too. :( My favorite thing is to get presents for other people and this year it's just not going to happen. I'm thinking I'm going to make little homemade gifts for everyone - they're cheaper and I think really meaningful. :) I love the idea of what you're getting for your brother and I hope he loves it.

I would kill for a nice, plush robe. You really can't go wrong with comfortable relaxation items. :)

Your mom has a new boyfriend? Have you met him? How's that going, do you like him? I rarely see my mom unless I make the effort to get down and see her so I kind of know how you feel. It sucks. :/

I was thinking of getting one of those little Christmas ornaments from Michaels, the white clay/porcelain kind that you paint yourself. We used to go to Michaels every year when we were kids and my brother and I would pick an ornament and paint it. Then my mom would hang them on the tree. She still has them all, though she no longer has a big tree to display them. But I was wondering if she would appreciate a gift like that. Maybe I could get her a miniature tree just to hang those kinds of decorations. I'm not sure... It's kind of a tradition I'd like to do with my own kids. I always looked forward to it when I was a kid. Though I have to admit I'm anal about my tree looking perfect, so having badly painted ornaments at the bottom (where the kids would hang them, along with their other ornaments they make) may grate a little. But I'm sure once I have a kid that should change. If not, it would give me a reason to have two trees ^^ lol
