It's our 40th wedding anniversary on Sunday. We're spreading the celebrations through the year. They started with the trip to South Africa in February, and we're having a big party in June, when the weather is (hopefully) better. But we thought we ought to do something to mark the date itself, and what we decided to do is to go and stay in a B&B

Congratulations on that milestone - for both of you.
We beat you to it - our 40th was last July 31st. And we spent our 20th anniversary in 1985 in Newcastle, my father's hometown. He was born on Brunel St. in Gateshead and grew up in Jesmond Dene. When I was 18, I sailed from Montreal to Liverpool and spent my first month in England with my Geordie family in Newcastle (then I was off to Bristol for 3 years of university, '55-'58).

Sandra and I are thinking of a return visit for our 41st. And maybe will look for a B&B in Wooler. 'Ta very mooch, hinnie.
