Sounds like you had a near perfect vacation. We'd have loved to have been there too. The restaurant at Doune sounds amazing. One doesn't expect that kind of fare at the end of the universe.
I hope you two will make it to Scotland one of these days. It's a beautiful country, and I can't think of anywhere quite like it in north America. (I suppose Nova Scotia should have some similarities, but i have never been there.)
I'm glad you had a nice trip and that you were not down in London when that awful day came. I also thought of you when I read in the paper that they'd raided houses up there and arrested people? They were not very specific; I suppose they're trying to keep information as hush-hush as possible until they know for sure. You are in my thoughts.
Things are quite calm here, though in the multi-ethnic areas of south Leeds there is a lot of shock that such things could originate in their community.
Just to keep things in perspective, one should remember that the equivalent of the London bombings occurs every single day in Baghdad.
