Did you manage to see 'Moon' earlier this summer? If so, which one did you prefer, Moon or D9?

Ooo, no I haven't Moon but I want to! I was reading a review that mentioned both it and D9 as favorable examples of current sci-fi. And thanks for the Corcoran tip! I've heard of it, but totally forgot it was in D.C.

Not only the best that scifi has to offer, but they might very well be the best films of the year. We'll see if 'Extract' or Soderburg's 'The Informant!' or Scorsese's "Shutter Island' or maybe even Peter Jackson's 'The Lovely Bones' can surpass them in terms of brilliance but I seriously doubt. In the year of Transformers 2 and GI Joe, low budget content over rendering seems like the great winners.

Wow, it's amazing to hear the accent issue from 'the other side'. The latter series of Frasier were completely ruined for me by Daphne's brother and his awful accent - and my train of thought was exactly the same: couldn't they use a British actor?

I know, right? I vageuly remember seeing some of those episodes and even I thought, "Jeez, that's a crap British accent!" It can't be that hard to scare up an American or British or nationality actor, and in a time when shows and movies can have international exposure you can't just slip that by knowing that people from that country will never see it anyway. I don't understand casting, I guess.
