loser

Gawd, I'm a loser. This has been amusing me lately. See, Mark and I don't plan on getting a real pet any time soon, but I love animals. For people like me, virtual pets are great. I even had an off-brand Tamagotchi (a Raku-Raku Dinokun, to be exact, which grew up into different dinosaurs depending on what you fed it and which I think I still have, ( Read more... )

No. Allow me to compete on the loser stakes. I won't even participate in these virtual pet things, cos I am too worried that I would become too invested in my virtual pet and then it'd die or I'd accidentally kill it. Now THAT is sadder. I win (or lose!). Yes, lose.

I wouldn’t go for virtual pets myself, but it would be good for those dimwits that buy dangerous animals & then keep them in domestic surroundings, or train domestic animals to be dangerous. There are recent tragedies resulting from the latter, but in the former I remember that my brother in law got a python. It grew to be quite large, and then one day it wrapped himself around his arm, and he could not get the damned thing off again (surprised?). Just imagine if that had been one of his kids necks. Of course they got rid of it right away after that, but if he had half a brain he would have considered that possibility in the first place.

Oh my God, no kidding! Now pet snakes aren't really my thing, but there are many kinds you can keep that aren't really a danger. But pythons? Especially if you have children? Hell, no. Plus, there's the fun fact that here in Florida, as a result of irresponsible owners losing or setting loose their huge snakes, pythons are now an established population in the Everglades. Hey, thanks! Maybe you'd like to play with this Tamagatchi before you purchase your next python/chimpanzee/lion? No, I insist.
