Okay, can we talk about how much I love this for awhile? Everyone good with that? Okay, cool.
I really, really love this. David has that perfect edge of being kinda clueless but also just sweet and full natured and gentle that I love. Gerard has the right balance of Bandit's Daddy and Needs Other Stuff to make everything feel totally okay and believable in the story.
The key card. The key card I LOVE IT. And the TATTOO licking. And the whole feel of just melancholy and yet 'Hey, we can have this back if we want it' and they both do, so much. I want to hug this fic forever and ever.

And just seriously. Seriously, your characterization is always so phenomenal. Special ♥s for Matt. I love the familiarity between them, that kind of bittersweet feeling of, yeah, things are different, and (especially for Gerard) we have different people in our lives but there's no reason to ever give up loving someone and GUH.
