that fact that i've wanted to do that for a long time wouldn't make it any less satisfying.

my boss is planning this fancy fancy benefit thing on sept 21st, for the 20th anniversary of the republican jewish coalition (VOMIT!!!!!!!) and guess who their "special guest" is?

oh, and by the way...

their money is going to a FAR more important issue right now, which is killing the estate tax. why should millionaires and billionaires have to pay taxes on money they inheirit?!?! only money you WORK for is taxes, not money that you land ass-backwards into because of your sacred birthright.

Hmm, the inheritance tax thing might be different in the US than here, but I don't think it's all that okay to tax the same money over and over either. And it's not like only rich people have to pay taxes on stuff their parents already paid taxes on either.

no, it's TOTALLY different in the us.

first of all, the estate tax is only paid if you inheirit 3 million dollars or more at once.

second, the people who are against it describe it exactly the way you do. taxing the same money over and over. well, that's one way of looking at it.

(they also call it the "death tax" to make it sound really horrible.)

but i think that's total bullshit, personally. because if i have to pay taxes on money i WORK for, than paris hilton DAMN SURE should pay taxes on the money that she did NOTHING to get besides being lucky enough to be born rich.

but yes, it's ONLY rich people. and not just only rich people, but only REALLY rich people. because there's a lot of stuff they don't include in that that's not taxable, like farmland, or whatever, and it all has to go to one person, and it can't be a spouse, and there's a bunch of other rules. i think it's only like 1000 families that are even eligible for it.

i kind of think there should be a 100% estate tax, and no income tax.
