i have this theory about that show. and that is that it was pitched and sold in new york.
because say the name. with a regular, los angeles, standard american accent.

but now, say it with virtually ANY OTHER ACCENT. new york (nasal and mobster varieties both work), southern (soft drawl and twang both work), all british accents, indian...
it TOTALLY RHYMES. sounds great, in fact. rhythmic and beautiful.
but now, the people who actually do the voiceover work for nick jr. talk with the standard american accent. which means they say it in the retardo "next up, DAU-RUH THE EX-PLAU-ROAR" way.
