I asked my neighbour, cute blonde girl with boyfriend, to look after my plants while I'm gone. I was actually kind of proud of myself for doing so. I thought I was going to throw up I was so anxious knocking on their door. I mean, I don't even know her name for christsakes. But still, it seemed to make the most sense to have someone in the building

Nah, I'd be kinda happy, because maybe they'd look after mine in return should I ever go away. Plant karma!

Plants are easy. It's not like you're asking them to look after exotic fish or anything. I would think it was a bit odd, but after the initial "huh?" moment, it would be no problem.

Plus, if said neighbour was as awesome as you are, I'd hope it was a way to start a friendship.
