Birthdate/Sign:
Within the canon of Deadman Wonderland, birthdays are not given. The same is true for Minatsuki, who never celebrates her birthday in series. However, given the nature and attributes for the sign of Scorpio (especially the negative attributes), I've assigned the birthday of November 15th. Scorpio, being the sign of suspicion, as well as insults and often sadism, not to mention intensity and ruthlessness, fits Minatsuki's true personality well, as she is a sexual sadist who trusts no one.
Tattoo: On her right hip; two inches across
Suitability:
Though only seventeen years old, Minatsuki is mentally mature for her age. Able to deal with things such as death, sex, and other aspects of life that can be difficult for seventeen year olds, Minatsuki experiences or deals with these topics every day. She even kills when she needs to and tells others that she wants nothing more than to make someone suffer for her sexual pleasure. This, while demonstrating her possible mental disability, also shows that she would be more than willing to take on the task of having sex in Zodion. She'd take to it with pleasure, and while often seeking to harm others in order to get off, she is comfortable with sex and having it often.
Furthermore, as a child raised within the confines of Sector G in Deadman Wonderland, Mina has had to fend for herself for years. When not fighting to gain cast points and candy to purchase what she wants, she often takes advantage of others, using the misguided belief that people have in her being a weak girl to get money, food, and other items out of them. In Zodion, she would do much the same, showing that she'd be able to fit into the setting with ease.
Power:
The main power that people in Deadman Wonderland can have is known as the Branch of Sin. This ability, granted to those infected with something known as Red Diamonds (one of which Mina inhaled during the Great Tokyo Earthquake), gives the person the capability to control their blood and use it as a weapon. Mina is one of the few individuals gifted with this power and hers is known as Whip Wing. When she yanks out her earrings, causing blood to flow freely, she combines her blood with her hair in order to create dangerous and deadly whips. These whips can extend several feet and move at lightening speed. Of course, owing to the need for free-flowing blood, someone with a Branch of Sin is likely to fall ill easier, anemia taking hold if they rely on their Branch of Sin for too long. Mina is just as susceptible to this as anyone else in series.
In Zodion, where there is a need to cut this power back upon arrival, Mina will lose the ability to use her Whip Wing over extended distances. Cut back to just a foot around her body, her Branch of Sin won't have the same wide circumference. Furthermore, Mina's ability to withstand anemia will be weaker, forcing her to only use her Branch of Sin for a few minutes at a time before she grows weak and light headed.
Personality:
Minatsuki's personality is one of contradiction. When the reader and the main character of the series first meets Minatsuki, one is lead to believe she is a sweet, shy, and caring individual.
Her room is filled with flowers that she has been tending ever since arriving in Deadman Wonderland. When upset, tears form in her eyes and at several points she has to be saved by Ganta, the main character. Each time she is saved, she blushes as if she is embarrassed but pleased that Ganta cares for her. Even as they sit and become acquainted, she talks to Ganta about her brother and her past. About how she was nearly raped by her father and how her brother protected her. She pleads to Ganta and soon the main character is willing to do anything to protect her or keep her from fighting.
This personality, however, is a facade. One that she uses to lure others into a false sense of security. As soon as Ganta and Mina go for a walk through the halls of Deadman Wonderland, Mina uses her shyness and her "weakness" to make Ganta believe that the sudden collapse of pipes from above was an accident and not one she caused to purposely hurt him. Here, it's only hinted that she is responsible. But later, when we see her in the Carnival Corpse, a death match between Deadmen (or individuals able to use their blood as weapons), she reveals that she had been playing the entire time, using Ganta's "virgin white knight thing" against him and that she found it "fucking disgusting". From here, Mina shows nothing but a cruel and sadistic side, one seeking to bring utter ruin and suffering upon Ganta. Why? Because she wants to get off on it.
Even when her brother arrives to protect her, she continues to display this cruel side to Ganta. The sweet and innocent side reappears if only in front of Mina's brother, Yoh. But Yoh soon realizes the truth. That all along the person that had killed their father had been Mina (Yoh had believed he was responsible) and that she had been lying for so long.
She explains the reason for her lies and for her choices is due to the lies she had been told and because humans are disgusting, hypocritical creatures with filthy hearts. And what she hates more than people who lie and show it on their faces is people who lie and put up smiles. To Mina, there isn't a single person in the world worth trusting. This is all due to an incident ten years before, when an earthquake that shook Tokyo threatened Mina and her mother's lives. But rather than save Mina, as one would think a mother would do, Mina's mother leaves her daughter behind to be crushed, forever skewing Mina's view of the world.
Her hatred is strong and twists her desires as well. Minatsuki seeks the ruin of those around her, finding sexual pleasure in hurting others. She even finds no qualms with using her own brother as a shield to protect herself, saying that her brother's stupid face might make her cum. As she puts it, everything is worthless unless it gets her off, though it's likely that this too is a front for Minatsuki. One created by her inability to trust, which Ganta soon shatters.
During their battle, Ganta refuses to fight against her in a way that would damage both of his "friends" and soon finds a way to knock Mina out, but not without confusing Mina. He says that even if he's being used, he still considers Yoh to be his friend. And he tells Mina that if she doesn't trust anyone, lies and hurts others, the only person she's hurting is herself. With this leaving Mina surprised, Ganta headbutts her and knocks her out, effectively winning the fight.
After this, Ganta (as well as her brother) becomes the first person she can put trust in and continues to prove his trustworthiness to Mina, something that continues to confuse and befuddle her. She initially describes it as an "XXX worthless feeling", but gradually, she begins to open up more and more. She drops the sweet and innocent facade around her new friend, but still gains pleasure from harming others. It's a slow change, but with time, Minatsuki begins to be more open around others as well, her demeanor changing and softening until she no longer uses the coarse language as often as she once did.

"Zodion" First-Person Network Entry:
[ The video clicks on to show a scared and frightened young girl. Her dress is slowly slipping off one shoulder and she's doing her best to hold it up as tears form in her eyes. There's a pause as a blush forms on her cheeks and she looks away from the camera. The perfect picture of a shy and frightened young girl. ]
P-Please... could someone... help me? I... I'm a such a t-terrible person... I've gotten lost, s-so please...
[ She gives the camera another shy and pleading look. One that says "I'm ready for the taking, just come save me." Inwardly, she's seething. Angry. And ready to rip apart the first guy that might piss her off. Her thoughts are far from as innocent as the expression on her face or the words on her lips. But in this strange new world where nothing makes sense and she doesn't know anyone, she's relying on a method she knows to be tried and true: manipulating others. Make someone take pity on her and offer help so she can finally get some fucking answers. These twelve cocksuckers want her to worship? Sure, she'll worship, but she's gonna rip someone to pieces while she does it. Otherwise there's just no point. ]
This is the most ✖✖✖ bullshit place ever. Someone better fucking help me and it better not be some shithead pervert either. Gonna rip the next worthless fucker to shreds!
[ Or so she thinks, though her expression is still shy, timid, scared. Tears begin to slip down her cheeks. ]
I-I don't even... I don't know why these twelve chose me, but- I-I'll do my best...
"Zodionlogs" Third-Person Prose Entry:
This had to be the most fucked up, shitty situation Mina had ever been in. Just as she'd been getting ready to pummel that worthless shit Ganta in their Carnival Corpse match, she'd blinked and found herself somewhere altogether different. Like nothing she'd ever seen. And it wasn't so much the showing up in someplace that pissed her off. It was that she hadn't been able to beat the shit out of Ganta first. Whoever was responsible was going to have their flesh peeled from their bones for this.
But first she had to find out where the fuck she even was. Eyes narrowed in suspicion, Mina glanced around the area, catching sight of an alter that stood several feet away. It beckoned to her, but Mina didn't trust it. She didn't like the look of it, sitting there as if it were some innocent little box. Bullshit. She knew how things worked. Nothing was worth trusting and there was no way in hell she was gonna trust what was clearly a trap. Even as she thought this, however, her feet seemed to move on their own and before she could stop herself, she was stepping over the pool of water that surrounded the dais.
"Fuck!!", she cursed suddenly, feeling pain bite into her hip as soon as she stepped over the threshold. Before she looked down to check the cause, she found herself surrounded. Turning on the spot, she found that the water within the pool had risen to create a circular mirror. In it stood her reflection, fully naked despite the clothes she could feel clinging to her skin. What. The. Hell. But at least the image she saw gave her an indication of what had caused the pain in her hip.
A small tattoo had been branded into her skin, right above the line of where she felt her panties. Someone had fucking branded her! Sure, it looked kinda cute and she'd been considering getting a tattoo with the cast points from her next battle, but she wanted to choose her own design. Not the shitty mark that she'd been given. She was definitely going to flay someone for this.
Turning away from the mirror, she returned her narrowed gaze to the box she'd noticed earlier. She still felt suspicious of it, having even less trust in the situation than before. But there was nothing for it. Clearly she was meant to open it and find what was hidden inside. Mina was cautious though. Reaching up, she yanked hard on her right earring and felt the trickle of blood as it welled up on her skin. Soon, it was dripping into her long plait, and the familiar sensation of control brought a sadistic grin to her lips. If there was something dangerous in the box, she'd be ready for it.
With hair already forming deadly whips, ready to strike if needed, Mina's fingers reached out and tugged on the clasp holding the box open. But instead of anything coming out, instead of anything dangerous inside like she'd suspected, she found a note and a phone inside. The hell? That was it? That was all to it? A sense of disappointment filled her as she reached inside, pulling out the letter first. Her brown eyes scanned the note quickly, narrowing even more as she took in the message. What a load of bullshit...
Crumpling up the paper and throwing it aside, Mina reached back in the box for the phone. It looked simple enough, and after turning it on, she discovered a network not unlike what had been available within Deadman Wonderland. Posts of many kinds, of all sorts of people filled the screen, all of which were given a quick scan. It seemed this world, whatever the fuck it was, was filled with the kind of worthless fucks that lived outside the walls of Deadman Wonderland. Shitheads, liars, cockroaches... At the very thought, Mina felt the sadistic smirk on her lips widen. This would be a breeze. With these kinds of people? She'd have them all fooled easily. Hell, it might even be fun sticking around for a while. Because if the people here were as stupid as they looked, she'd be comfortable in no time.
