Eyecon 9-08
I did NOT however, spend as much as I did last time, I got the gen-general admission ticket, instead of one of the levels and despite how much I wanted to only got one photo op (with Jason Manns, since I didn't have one with him)...now, that being said (and I'm trusting my f-list enough here that you won't go grade school and tattle tale *stink eye*)...
we got there Fri afternoon after Amy got in and went and got our regisration packets, and while I'm digging around in my envelope to get my badge, I pulled out my Jason picture ticket and the 2 Jared autos I got (one for me, one for xoxo_assyla)...but I also pull out another Jason Manns photo ticket, and TWO Jared photo tickets!!...call me bad names and greedy or whatever...like I was going to turn them back *rolls eyes*
anyways, we went to the showing of Chad's movie/documentary 'My Big Break'...we were literally the first people to see it. Wow. That's basically the first word you think of after watching it. I don't mean to sound cocky or pretentious but IMO people that are IN fandom like we are, have a more realistic view of Hollywood, we follow our stars, we pay attention to things that happen...but a lot of people don't and they have a very jaded, sparkly view of what Hollywood is...this movie blows that all up like an A-bomb. Yes, there are some hilarious parts, yes, there is male nudity haha, but it is a very heavy, very eye opening look at the industry. It is not sugar-coated in any way and as someone said during the Q/A, it should be shown in schools for those that think they want to pursue that career. If you ever get the chance to see it, DO. It's different, it's strong, it'll leave you somewhere lost between laughing, crying, apaulled and proud but you'll still be glad you sat through it.
after that we waited around until Jason Mann's concert...and omg, I may have fallen just a little bit in love (not that I wasn't already, hell he's my Plan C husband haha) but jesus christ, him in person is...I don't wanna say better cus I still covet my CD, but DAMN, I was like *tries to think of a cheesy word* twitterpaited haha, you like zone out and just focus on him cus jesus christ he's awesome. He sang a couple covers, one of which I didn't recognize, one was Sitting on the Dock of the Bay and holy damn, I might like it more than the original haha. He played part of Buckley's Hallelujah, but couldnt remember enough to finish, and actually messed up in the middle of Your Song, stopped, played Let it Go and then picked Your Song back up where he had stopped, it was freaking adorable....and DAMN is that boy big! He's def up there with Jen and Jare, and you don't expect it cus his pics online make him look like a lil ballad-boy but JESUS haha
Jim's Q/A was the first one the next day and he is, as always, hysterical. He was cracking jokes on Jensen, said he took a nap during that scene in LazR. Was joking around about having to feel up Jared during the scene where Bobby pulls him off Dean and was all 'long story short we're engaged' *rolls eyes* the man's awesome, he also told us we we're 'sick puppies' because he now knows what I Read John/Bobby means HAHA (which resulted in a flub-turned-inside joke with a girl in the Jared photo line of Bohn Jobby)
AJ Buckley and Travis Wester we're next...I don't even know where to start with those two. If they never get another acting gig they could very easily go into improv and make a killing, they are THAT funny and play off each other THAT well, they really are the geeky adorable version of J2. AJ was saying when they were filming Jensen kept poking him in the ass with his shotgun when he was trying to film!! haha and the director was all 'why do you keep saying ahh!' and hes like 'cus you star keeps poking me in the ass with a shotgun!!'...some chick behind us was like 'did you like it?' HAHA but alas, he did not hear lol Travis could not stop moving, he's completely hyperactive haha, he actually moved his chair so he could bounce around stage. And AJ started bumping the mic against his forhead to make it sound like a heartbeat and ended up with a big ass red mark haha...and random: AJ was asked what his dream car was, to which he replied 57 Bel Air (yum)...and then me and Amy DROVE PAST ONE...and totally took a pic and showed it to him the next day lol
Fred Lehne had a cold? I think, so he was very soft spoken and adorable and I was glad people asked him questions about more than just SN, he was very cool and said he's defended us 'wierd sci-fi-ish fans' haha *huggles him* He made sure to inform us he was wearing CK briefs haha and apparently his dream car is a Prius *giggles* which of course made me and Amy go ITS A LUNCHBOX (ala Jeff Dunham)..and *giggles* he was making a comment about something he had done to his arm, and made a joke about his rubber bands being dried out and needing...lubrication, yes, he said it, and paused and realized what he said just about the time we all busted out laughing haha
Nicki is an absolute DOLL. She is hysterical, cracking on both the boys and I have no doubt she could take them like she said haha, she's got an awesome attitude and def doesn't take any shit lol and joking around that she could *cough*handle*cough* both of them haha, and apparently one of her favorite words is lackluster cus when they made her say it in Salvation she didnt know what it meant and started saying it over and over haha
Jason brought his guitar to his Q/A and played us some more songs, he's even more adorable lol, and sung a verse or two of Marvin Gaye's Sexual Healing, which cracked me the hell up (and then we ended up hearing it on the radio on the way there the next day HAHA) lol the MC Dizzy pulled up the mike on the side and was all 'this is god, do you know any beetles songs' HAHA
Steve's concert was that night, and Steve was joking around about panties and there were several (jokingly) calls of 'take it off' including a very deep toned one from Jason Manns ;) who later came on stage, and to my knowledge did the first Steve/Jason duet, which was AMAZING omg *is waiting on a vid of that* it was just...UGH
pictures with Jared were fast, as always, and you can def tell in mine neither of us are awake haha, there was actually a little girl (I didnt see this) but Jared picked her up and put her ON HIS SHOULDER...there was a wave of awww that swept across the room...and
Jareds QA was...a production, there were two different special presentations to start it off, first was a HANDMADE WOODEN oversized chess set that was AMAZING, the white side had Dean and Sam and the Impala and rock salt bags and stuff, and the black side had the YED and the Devils Gate and flames...the second presentation was the one I was waiting for, there had been a collection taken up of photos of fans with Jared and made into a professional coffe table type book, but it just so happened that when janglyjewels took donations for the cost of the book it went over...and she ended up with FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS to donate to TheAnimalRescueSite.com which means something like 2500 dogs are going to get vaccinations now...Jared was SPEECHLESS, it took him a few minutes to regain his composure he was completely blown away and was like 'dont touch!' when the con girl stepped up to take it from him *pets him* and OF COURSE the first question was about him and Jen living together (that didnt take long haha) he was just very awesome like always
before Jareds autos we ended up spending a half hour or so at Steve and Jasons table in the auto room, we were joking around with the con staff girl that was there with them. Amy mortified me by telling Jason how I listened to his cd after my mom died *facepalm* but he was sweet about it and I bought the only Steve CD i was missing...and *shifty eyes* as a surprise we asked Steve if he could record a short vid for a friend of mine who is a HUGE fan and was recently diagnosed with cancer...he actually offered to call her, but well, she lives in Australia haha, but he was a complete sweetheart and did record a lil clip for us *smishes him* both he and Jason are absoulte awesome guys, I was very lucky to be able to kind of camp out there the way I did
his autographs were still a mess *isnt going to make any comments* and it came down to them rushing Jared the last ten minutes before he had to CATCH HIS PLANE in order to get thru us people we couldnt afford the first ten rows *is gonna shut up now* he did look up like WTF is this when the base to the Sam knife I brought slid over, I'm not sure he realized what knife I was referring to (the guy next to me did) but he was like oh cool! and grabbed a silver sharpie to sign it with :D
Chad's Q/A was after and he was...OF COURSE, adorable, we got the standard ass shot that is classic Chad haha
Steve's Q/A was last, and he brought his guitar and totally made Dizzy haul up one of the big oversized fancy chairs onto stage to sit in, he's a cocky attention whore lol, but it was kind of hilarious, he did explain how he and Chris met and how it ended up he and Jensen we're roomies for awhile
we're going to his concert tonight at The Social, and if it was like last time, it's gonna be better than the con
other than that we hung out with some new/old friends, including lila_blue_b, there were some hilarious girls (that I'm hoping will contact us) that we were cracking jokes with all weekend long, including one that somehow turned from a diecast car into boys in a cage, into cage fighting, into COCKFIGHTING that had me laughing so hard I LITERALLY couldnt breathe outside of Jareds Q/A *sigh* good times
