well, if it is a secret passage, that means you don't want anyone to find it by accident, which means it would have to be a book that nobody would ever choose to take off the bookself, ie. "Like Water for Chocolate," or "Striptease." Or something similarly awful.
:-( I kind of enjoyed LWFC. The movie was good, too.
But while we're on the subject of which book to pick... it really depends on how many visitors you are expecting to come along and poke at your bookshelf. If you're going to be entertaining guests often, pick a book so bland that absolutely nobody will ever read it. (Just about any college textbook will do here; I'm sure a few others come to mind as well.) If you'll be the only person perusing your literary choices, then you might as well choose a book whose title will make you smile whenever you read it. My choice would be "Dr. Tatiana's Sex Advice to All Creation: The Definitive Guide to the Evolutionary Biology of Sex". Which, coincidentally, is an awesome book and everyone should read it.
haha, if you knew striptease, you would not take it off the shelf. you know that terrible demi moore movie "striptease"? it's based on a book. sooo bad.
i'm good. takin a semester off, working at a day care, i love it. how is brandeis treating you?
Wow, people actually read this... Same day comments never the less.
You're all quite sneaky, but it has to be creative/meaningful AND sneaky. Like someone suggested Heart of Darkness if you planned evil things in the secret room.
planning on making some less than code approved alterations to your dorm bro? personally i'd be inclined to pick my favorite book so that i could remember it, but then i'd have to choose a favorite book :)
anyway hope your having fun. we'll say hi to everyone in maine for ya.
