I went to a Tmobile Retailer today...

To get a free replacement under my one year warranty. Since the warranty hotline was out of stock for SK2, they advised me to go to a retailer, so I did. Then, I was informed that they had a new policy where I would have to send in my SK2 to the headquarters frist, and when they get mine, they will look at it and then they will mail me a new one... thats like 5 days without a SIDEKICK!! Impossible!! The sales rep, Cody, started to talk about Sidekick 3. He said I could wait for it and upgrade to SK3. He said it was supposed to be out this past month, but now it was delayed to 3rd/4th quarter of 2006. That would be anytime between July and December 2006 when the new product comes out! Theres the pics and info on SIDEKICK 3!

Price: $499.00

Update: The sk3 does not feature video. Feature: Edge/Wi-Fi, a Detachable battery, a Mini SD Card Slot, a Music player and instead of the scroll wheel there is a ball. It is slimer and no rubber bumpers. aslo It has high broadband speed wireless as Edgr/Wi-Fi to known bluetooth ( same cable modem has high speed)

Sidekick 3 have themed wallpaper.

T-Mobile Strides to Reach Broadband Speeds
T-Mobile News link at http://mobilehipster.com
Two new T-Mobile devices were shown off at the Sundance Film Festival by Gwyneth Paltrow and Michael Rapaport. T-Mobile has yet to deploy a 3G network, versus Verizon and Sprint Nextel.

Instead T-Mobile is relying on the availability of open access Wi-Fi, (such as those you would find in the home or in many internet cafes,) T-Mobile "Hotspots", (special locations at Starbucks and some hotels), and EDGE to create a speed varying patchwork connectivity network.

Jenna Beardsley-Smith, senior manager at T-Mobile said "Our goal [by building the Wi-Fi network] was to bridge the gap between the 2G, 2.5G and 3G without investing in a major network before consumers are ready to use the applications for 3G,"

Which shows that T-Mobile is in disbelief that consumers are ready to pay for the universal 3G network. Since T-Mobile appears to be posturing for a 2007 launch of a 3G network but is faced with impending release of the Sidekick III. Therefore it makes sense that the Sidekick III would be enabled to transition between this 'patchwork' network.
