Heyhey... I know little of the Bay Area, other than it's a tough place to make a living, given all the expenses. But I will say this: It's much, much better to be in a happy place with a crappy job that pays the bills than advancing your career yet being miserable. I've seriously thought about moving back to small-town Michigan because there are at least a few jobs in my field (whereas in Tucson, there are absolutely none...) But hey, the economy will improve, and in the meantime maybe you can pick up some freelance work?
