8. Have you read the comics and/or watched the movies? I've done both actually, and am fixated on both!
9. Have your read any of the books that the characters were taken from (however roughly)? I've read H. Rider Haggard's King Solomon's Mines, Bram Stoker's Dracula, Jules Verne's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Virginia Woolf's Orlando and probably some more books...
10. How do you feel about or deal with…
a. Power?: Normal people are obsessed with power, unlike me. Personally, I prefer justice, love, peace, harmony, joy and a healthy planet. Call me a hippy, but I just like to have morals.
b. Pain?: I've just come out of a rough stage in my life, where pain was more common than bread. The main sort of pain was heartbreak by what I call Undersirables-- parts of the English language that can break my heart. And often do. God, I hate pain!
c. Love?: I love love. I love spiritual love, I love friendly love, I love parental love, but what I'm dying to get and receive is romantic love. I just never seem to enjoy it.
d. Death?: Eh, I'm apathetic to it. When I was a child, I was so scared of it, to the point that my heart beat so fast it felt like it was on fire. Then all of a sudden, I got brave. Ah, well, it's a blessing.
e. Science?: Being a Buddhist and a white person, I have great respect for science. Of course, my great loves in life are LoEG's Orlando (my biggest fixation so far is on him); life's magic and fantasy; emotion; art and creativity; and my computer.
f. Stress?: I used to be sooo stressed in secondary school that I couldn't handle it any more. Eventually, I was expelled, and am currently at TAFE
g. Leadership?: Only good people-- people who care about minorities, coloured people, the environment and those cute little aliens in outer space-- should be leaders.
h. Government?: I hate, hate, hate the government in general! They're a bunch of sadistic, ruthless, right-wing, white-supremacist, anti-disability, planet-hating Nazis who don't give a damn about the Ozone layer, the greenhouse gases, pollution, littering or endangered species. I hate them, and I won't like them until they're as green as possible!
i. People in general?: People always pretend to be friendly. I know (some of) the dark secrets they hide.
11. General Favourites (and why)
a. Book(s): Chata Romano's Change your Image Change your Life, because it's the best book on looking good I've ever read. Anything by Nina Garcia, because she's the ultimate expert on style. All Quiet on the Western Front (forgot the author's name), because it''s a masterpiece. And LoEG: Black Dossier, of course, because of all the info on Orlando!
b. Movie: Dr. Seuss's Horton Hears a Who! because it's an unlikely masterpiece.
c. Music: U2, Colplay, Jimi Hendrix and The Rolling Stones because they write, sing and play their own songs. And because they sound so cool.
d. Historical Period(s): Ancient times, Elizabethan England, and the Late Victorian to Edwardian period because they're all so LoEG and Orlando.
e. Myth(s): anything involving Tiresias, because he's Orlando's father. And the Trojan War, because Orlando fought in it.
f. Quote(s): 'You can do anything if you put your mind to it', from Eminem's song Lose Yourself.
