Soybean oil and vegetable oil are really the same thing. As far as I can tell, the only difference is that you cannot find vegetable oil anywhere in any of the five miniature grocery stores I frequent, but you can find soybean oil at them all ( Read more... )

What do you mean they don't make sense? What doesn't make sense about them? They make fine sense. I don't use them a lot myself.

How exactly do you explain to a Korean the difference between "a" and "the"?

Also, in this sentence "The more time I spend in Korea, the more I learn" why do we say "the more" instead of just "more"?

"a" is non-specific.
"the" refers to a specific one.

like "un" and "el".
i don't know if they have that in korean.

They don't have that in Korean.

"A" and "the" do not always follow those rules, and the exceptions are hard to explain.
