This is actually the theme song I wrote for an RPG I played in this past semester, based on the television series "Firefly." Our ship was called the Rosinante, after the horse of Don Quixote, and I was the captain, Colin Finnegan. The GM wanted a theme song, and after puzzling through many rock and country songs- the lead for a long time was "Tales of Brave Ulysses," by Cream, but nothing felt quite right. So I said to hell with it and wrote a song. I don't know why I never put it in the journal before... Anyway, here it is.
"Rosinante"
I have railed at windmills
And called the poor man a king
Tasted fruits of freedom and
The darker side of being
I've killed some men who shoulda lived
And saved some shoulda died
I've been the blessed and the damned
The follower and guide
Come along, Sancho, we've many miles to ride
There's no help forthcoming but the sword at my side
No shelter but the sky awaits us when our day is done
But still we're riding Rosie into the setting sun
We live the life of errant knights
Drinking dust instead of tea
They say our actions are madness
Nobody more than we
Let 'em keep their world of dust
Let 'em keep the things we lack
We've got hope and we've got freedom
And we've got the black
Come along Sancho, we've many miles to ride
There's no help forthcoming but the sword at my side
No shelter but the sky awaits us when our day is done
But still we're riding Rosie into the setting sun
Still we're riding Rosie into the setting sun...
