Hey.

[Mello closes the book, with a pen marking his place. He's not immune to the awkwardness still lingering between them, and one way Mello deals with stress is by taking action. Even if it means pursuing a ridiculous idea. Hell, espeically if it does, sometimes.]

Matty, if you could go anywhere, where would you pick?

[Which is completely true. He's still not quite awake enough to have figured out Mello's ploy, but it's only a matter of time, really. He walks forward, trying to brush away the tangible tension between them, and pulls up a seat. Sagging into the chair beside Mello, Matt rubs one eyes with his palm as he yawns.]

I guess... Marseilles? The old house is still there, I think.

[He'd stayed there for a time while he was away from the mansion, and the fact that he still felt so attached to his childhood home spoke volumes for his mood as of late.]

Hm. [That's interesting. Mello can't say that he feels any significant emotional attachment to Ljubljana, except for the fact that his parents' graves are there. The part where he lived is, or was, grim at best, grey tenements and dying grass. He's never been to France. He never did a lot of things.]

[Matt stops, staring at Mello a moment before realization finally dawns, half-awake or no; rising instantly to his feet, the chair scoots back a little, making a scraping sound on the floor, as he grabs the book away from Mello, checking out the title.]
