Thoughts this way...
So, between getting home late and my computer freezing, I missed the first few minutes (not that I terribly minded missing Stelena scenes…or more importantly, blood vomiting…ugh).
- I didn’t hate the champagne Stefan/Elena scene. Stefan just seemed so HAPPY. That didn’t last for long obviously, and Elena was hiding something the entire time, but it was still cute to see how happy he was.
- The blood sharing scene: I missed it because of aforementioned computer problems but everyone seemed to love it. I tracked down a DL link (after checking YT obsessively first) and was able to watch it - it was awesome as expected, but I was a little disappointed it was so short (probably because I had high expectations from reading other people’s comments).
- Actually, I liked the scene where Damon gave Elena the blood bag better. She needed him, he was there for her: there was a moment. He was the one she called when she was stuck panicking in the bathroom - say whatever you will Stefan/Elena, good or bad, but I’m glad she’s able to trust Damon when she’s vulnerable and scared. She knows he’ll come through for her.

- I’m not a fan of Connor. He’s boring and brings pointless death to the town. He kind of reminds of that guy Buffy dated in S7 (though he was more attractive). Speaking of “Connor” that name will always remind of that horrible Connor/evil!Cordelia(Jasmine) storyline on Angel(UGH!). Idk, I find vampire hunters on these shows kind of…boring I guess.
- I’m still not sure what to think about April’s father blowing up the council. It kind of makes me wonder if what I’ve heard about angel!Elena from the books will come into play. It seems like they’re playing up the religious/sinner angle (I don’t remember exactly what was said and don’t feel like rewatching - I just remember something along these lines with the preacher’s pre-explosion and letter comments).
- THE ENDING. Oh, Damon and Alaric. I was pretty happy with Damon just talking to Alaric, expressing his grief in this own way, and then we actually see Alaric! Not only that, but his “I miss you too buddy.” Seriously, so sad. I MISS THEIR DYNAMIC ALREADY.

- I’m really doubtful Delena will be endgame (I’m not trying to be negative, and I’m not basing it on this episode) but regardless of the outcome, I just love any scenes Elena & Damon share together. I think if the writers/showrunners actually looked at their own show and characters Delena ABSOLUTELY would be endgame. Unfortunately, I think sometimes they ignore the obvious chemistry and way the characters actually would act based on what they’ve shown, and just go for the original plan/what they think best (rather instead of having the characters act in a way that actually makes sense). I’m not sure my explanation makes sense…
- I saw this on tumblr “Delena is taking over and I don’t like it. Can we let the good guy win for once?” (referring to the fandom, not the actual show)
Okay, I’ll admit I’m guilty of usually falling for the “bad boy” on shows. But, Stefan’s not just the “good guy” - he’s murdered countless people! Alright, you say, so he’s trying to repent and be a good now guy now - but then, so is Damon. He’s a little more rough around the edges, but he protects his friends, loves Elena, gets hard stuff done…yet he’s only the “bad guy.” Let’s face it, nobody on this show is just “good” or “bad”: there are MANY shades of grey.
