Killing innocents with drones is okay when Democrats do it, because they're doing it reluctantly. And Obama is a Nobel Peace Prize winner.

Oh I know. Peer reviewed papers have shown conclusively that children that are blown to bits don't actually suffer if a 'legal memorandum' is published justifying the action, and being caged without due process for years turns into a mardi gras vacation when it's done by a democratic president.

I know you aren't a fan, but people are seriously confused about the Consitutionality of these things. The Constitution restricts the government from acting without due process. The nationality of the victim is irrelevant. Allowing it to do so against foreigners has accomplished something however. It has set another precedent that has now turned into legal 'justification' for killing and imprisoning Americans. Something a Republican could never have accomplished without squeals of moral 'outrage' from the media.

I hate to say it but I think I prefer a bloodthirsty chickenhawk. They at least have one thing I can respect. Honesty.

Unfortunately, I've had far too many discussions in which I've had to remind people that the protections the Constitution is supposed to offer have nothing to do with citizenship and everything to do with restraining government action. One practical reason why I'm not a fan of that document, of course, is that it has failed utterly to prevent the federal government from reaching beyond its limits.

Oddly enough people are not taught about anything that hints at limitations on state power in the civic classes in state schools.
