Maybe you figured this out by now, but I got it working by downloading the .deb file from Ubuntu Updates and then manually installing in the command line. (I also needed to download the libgtkhtml3.14-19 package as well.)

I got it started, but I'm having no luck with it displaying anything other than the posting window. Any suggestions?

And you've enabled all the other options you want by selecting them under "View"? If that doesn't fix it, I don't know how else to help. =/ Or I've misunderstood your problem . . .
