Eight Years, Thirteen Days

Eight years and thirteen days ago I moved to the US. I arrived for the last ten days of Bill Clinton's presidency. As a result I'm finding it somewhat disconcerting to have a President doing things that actually seem like a good idea.

And remember, Clinton wasn't particularly effective for the last couple of years of his presidency. And Clinton often disappointed even at the beginning of his administration -- Don't Ask, Don't Tell, for example. So while I now remember the Clinton years with great fondness, the truth is that it really is VERY disconcerting to hear "The president did X" and have X be something that I'm very proud of. :)

A good problem to have, methinks.

All Clinton was really doing by the time I got here was pardoning clear criminals...

The funny thing is that 8 years and 16 days (well, from when you made this post - seems 3 days before you) I left the U.S. for Europe. I have enjoyed my 8 years away learning a new viewpoint. However, must've been scary from the inside!
