National Poetry Month

In honor of National Poetry Month, I thought I'd post a poem that I had written. But then, I started looking at the poetry from which I could choose and realized that I either wrote really well, but was terribly depressed, or was happy and corny. So, no poems from me this year. That's why I like our sandy soil. When it rains forever, the water just soaks down to the aquifer. Puddles don't stay around on the ground. Now roads and other paved areas--yes, the liquid sunshine can stay around a little longer there until the heat evaporates it. My concern is for the dog and her need for a dry spot to make wet herself!
