This has been the first week of the smoking ban in Scotland. Yes, it's healthier, blah blah blah. But holy shit, clubs and some pubs/bars SMELL. People smell terrible. I would rather smell smoke than urinals, B.O., and farts. Not to mention the stale beer.

I know it's healthier, but there is a certain, um, character that nicotine stains on the ceilings of bars add to the atmosphere.

England doesn't have to deal with the smoking ban until next year. Clubs are the worst, though. Poor ventilation in a room with 300 dancing people can only mean the stench of sweat. I'm still wondering why my beer (or maybe it was the glass) smelled like dog food, though. It's a bit worrying.

Boddington's is only really found in Manchester and the surrounding areas. It's also very very cheap. So no, not really a staple. Chris loved it. I don't get it myself. A pint of Kronenbourg 1664 is my biere of choice.
