A rambling post inspired by a rambling walk.

Today, in a complete change to my normal, entirely nocturnal, regime, I went for a pleasant afternoon walk. This is such a rare occurence for me that I felt the need to write something about it. My parents and I had taken a short trip into town to run a couple of errands, including collecting a grant application form, since I've been recommended ( Read more... )

Oh oh I love birdsfoot trefoil, and spotting an orchid in Devon is always terribly exciting as well - they have bee orchids in the fields around Harpford woods sometimes. The Brooke book I mentioned in my lj is just heaving with descriptions of flowers right from the opening chapters, by the way.

Y'know, I have to admit, when I went back over this post and read it I found myself thinking "Hmm, sounds a bit like Joy, but less articulate". Glad you approve of my little island's wildlife, it's just a shame we've been invaded by spanish bluebells, the original strain is much prettier, but spanish ones interbreed and out-compete them...
